Atlanta Harlequins 48, Chicago North Shore 14

May 11- In a hard-fought game with solid opposition the Atlanta Harlequins, after three years of trying, advanced on to the Elite 8. Under a bright sunny day off the north Atlantic sea, the Quins, sporting the beautiful blue and white jerseys loaned to them by the Argentina Pumas, started the game by receiving a kickoff from Chicago Northshore. After initiating a counter-attack from their own 40 meters, the ball was regained by Northshore. In a succession of fast passes, Northshore advanced the score to 7-0 in the first five minutes of the game. That was the wake up call for the Harlequins. After recovering the ball off a kick, Harlequin wing, Pat Neder, scored the first of three trys for the day. As the game progressed, the Quin's forwards took control of the game. In addition to Neder (22nd min), several forwards scored - Scrumhalf Summer Clayton (29th min), Flanker Kat Lavell (34th min), Second Row Holly Gaff (41st min), finished with 2 conversions by Fly Half Lori Utchel. The half ended Harlequins 31 - North Shore 7.

The second half was a mirror of the first 40 minutes, with the Quin's forwards controlling the pace of the game and the backs finishing the match. Neder opened the scoring (42nd min), then Fullback Shelley Wilson (59th min), Eightman Beth Fordyce (66th min). the Ending the game in spectacular fashion, the Harlequins closed the day by recovering a ball on their own 5 meters line and fast-passed to Neder who put the cap on a 90 meter run leaving half of North shore at her back.
Final score Harlequins 48 - Northshore 14.

Harlequins face New York on Sunday to fight for a spot in the Final 4.
